From June 8 to 10, 2026, esmo semicon exhibited at SWTest 2026 in Carlsbad, California. On site for esmo were Bert Bustamante, President esmo USA, and Homan Amin, Sales Engineer esmo USA.
SWTest ranks among the world's leading technical conferences for wafer and die-level testing, offering one of the few platforms where test engineers can discuss concrete integration challenges at a high technical level.
Integration into Existing Test Environments
The focus of esmo's presence at Booth #314 was the integration of handlers, manipulators, and docking solutions into existing ATE environments. In practice, a greenfield setup is rarely an option, there is existing equipment, limited floor space, and ongoing production requirements to consider. This is precisely where esmo semicon's approach comes in: solutions that adapt to the existing infrastructure, not the other way around.
Technical Topics at the Booth
A key topic was the targeted expansion of existing ATE setups. With regard to mechanical compatibility, electrical interfaces, and the specific requirements of the test system in use. Alongside this, the reduction of changeover and setup times was a central focus: especially when DUTs and configurations change frequently, the efficiency of the changeover process directly impacts the overall productivity of a test cell – without compromising repeatability. In addition, concepts for flexibly designed test cells were presented, where cable routing, safety concepts, and floor space utilization are considered from the very beginning.
Direct Exchange with Test Engineers
Visitors had the opportunity to discuss their specific requirements directly with Bert Bustamante and Homan Amin, ranging from incremental upgrades around a single ATE system to the planning of a broader device test architecture.
SWTest 2026 once again demonstrated that direct technical dialogue with engineers from real-world environments is the best way to develop solutions that truly work in day-to-day operation.
We would like to thank everyone who stopped by Booth #314 and shared their experiences with us. We look forward to continuing the conversation!
