Spotlight on High-Precision Handling and Flexible Test Automation

At SEMICON Europa 2025 in Munich, esmo semicon presented its latest technologies for semiconductor test automation, with a strong focus on flexible, high-precision handling solutions.

The main highlight of the exhibition was the apollo Quad Handler, which was exhibited live as a core platform for bridging the gap between engineering validation and high-volume production.

During the show, the apollo Quad Handler demonstrated its capabilities in real-world scenarios, particularly in the following areas:

  • Multi-site handling for devices ranging from 2.5 × 2.5 mm up to 125 × 120 mm
  • Extreme thermal range from –80 °C to +225 °C with high temperature stability
  • Flexible I/O interfaces for tray, tube, and tape configurations
  • Tool-less quick change system with RFID-based parameter transfer

A further focus was placed on seamless integration into automated test environments. Through its modular architecture, AMR/AGV compatibility and universal interface concept, the system demonstrated how modern test cells can be scaled and prepared for future production requirements.

In addition to the apollo Quad Handler, esmo semicon showcased further solutions from its portfolio, including systems from the talos series, its manipulator portfolio, and advanced docking and interface solutions.

Discussions with international industry professionals highlighted strong market demand for solutions that increase throughput, improve repeatability and maximize equipment uptime, while accelerating the transition from prototyping to high-volume manufacturing.

Companies that were unable to experience the systems live at the show are invited to arrange a live demonstration at the esmo Demo Center in Rosenheim.
