Donation campaign by the esmo apprentices

Christmas decorations made by apprentices earn 2,000 euros for Silberstreifen e.V.

This year, the apprentices at esmo AG have shown what Christmas is really about with a special campaign.

Throughout October and November, the 13 apprentices in industrial mechanics, mechatronics and technical product design designed, programmed and manufactured small fir-shaped pendants and star-shaped tea light holders in the company's training workshop so that they could then sell them for a good cause.

Their objective was to donate the proceeds to a charitable organisation for children in the Rosenheim district. The apprentices chose Silberstreifen e.V. in Vogtareuth, which aims to provide families of children with neurological illnesses with a certain amount of relief and help alongside their medical care.

The idea was so well received by apprenticeship leaders and business management that it was decided that the company would provide the material free of charge so that as much as possible could be raised in donations. Südeloxal, a company based in Stephanskirchen which has been esmo AG's surface finishing partner for many years, also took part in the campaign by coating the pendants and tea light holders free of charge. We would like to say thank you for the generous, uncomplicated support!

The little red Christmas trees and blue tea light holders were on offer to colleagues in the various esmo departments for the price of 6 euros each over the past four advent weeks. Everyone had the opportunity to pay a bit more to increase their donation, if they so wished, and this was widely taken up.

A total of 1,120 euros was raised for a good cause during this campaign. The management topped up the amount to 2,000 euros.

On 19 December 2022, the esmo apprentices presented the donation funds to Sabine Kuhn, Chairwoman of Silberstreifen e.V. The six apprentices were joined by training manager Florian Zosseder (responsible for industrial mechanics), trainer Georg Fischbacher (responsible for mechatronics) and Andreas Rothstein (CEO of the esmo group of companies).

It was a great initiative with a wonderful result for the children of the Silberstreifen e.V. association.

A big thank you to everyone who supported this initiative – and of course to the 13 apprentices for the great idea and the excellent result!

About Silberstreifen e.V.

"Being fortunate enough to have healthy children of your own obliges you to help those who are not doing so well," says Werner Schmidbauer, patron of the association, in a nutshell. Silberstreifen e.V. aims to offer hope to children and parents who face long periods of hospitalisation and for whom no public funding is available.

They support children with illnesses affecting the central and/or peripheral nervous system, paraplegia, craniocerebral injuries, epilepsy, neurological sequelae after brain or spinal cord tumours, neurological damage after abuse, developmental disorders of speech, motor skills and thinking.

The association was founded in order to offer these families a certain amount of relief and help alongside their medical care.
