On 20 June 2026, esmo AG’s headquarters in Rosenheim showed what lies behind 25 years of the company’s development: not only machines and technical solutions, but above all the people who bring together their knowledge, experience and perspectives.
At the Open House at Brückenstraße 1, around 1,000 visitors met colleagues from Germany, the United States, China, Singapore, Taiwan, Malaysia, India and the Philippines. Families and friends were given insights into assembly, engineering, software development, CNC production and the training workshop. Employees showed visitors their workplaces and explained how many individual tasks come together to create an automated technical solution.
While technology took centre stage in the working areas, the courtyard became a meeting place for families. A bouncy castle, go-karts, face painting, a balloon artist and shared catering made the day a special occasion beyond the production areas as well. For many visitors, it was an opportunity to see where their family members or friends work and to meet their colleagues in person.
In addition to numerous esmo partners and long-standing associates, guests included Abuzar Erdogan, Mayor of Rosenheim, and members of the City Council. The anniversary celebrations continued that evening at the Celebration Night at KuKo Rosenheim, where employees, partners and guests came together once again.
From seven engineers to a company with a global presence
In 2001, seven engineers founded esmo AG in Rosenheim. Today, around 285 colleagues work for the company worldwide. Its technical activities range from test head manipulators, engineering handlers, and docking and interface solutions for the semiconductor industry to automation solutions for special-purpose machinery.
In the past financial year, esmo generated annual revenue of around EUR 60 million, supplied customers in more than 70 countries and produced more than 3,800 manipulators annually. In the manipulator segment, esmo positions itself as a leading supplier worldwide, serving customers including CCTec, ADVANTEST, Infineon, Bosch, STMicroelectronics and Intel.
Many of these customer relationships have existed for more than 15 years. esmo AG’s very first customer is also still active today. For esmo, this continuity is just as important as ongoing technical development. As a full-service systems integrator, developer and supplier of automation solutions, the company combines engineering expertise, extensive in-house manufacturing capabilities and efficient processes to implement customer-specific requirements. A good price-performance ratio, advanced automation solutions, modern machinery and innovative production technology are central to this approach. esmo also implements demanding requirements within a short period of time.
International collaboration as part of the company’s development
As the company has grown, so has its international collaboration. Projects are managed across locations, languages and time zones. During the anniversary celebrations, these connections came together in one place for a day. Discussions took place directly at real systems or in the production areas, experiences were shared and technical challenges were discussed in person.
The company’s affiliation with Accuron Industrial Technologies, which has existed since 2011, was also part of the anniversary celebrations. To mark the 15th anniversary of this partnership, a delegation from Accuron travelled to Rosenheim. Philip Yeo, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Tan Kai Hoe, Group CEO/President, and numerous other members of the management team visited the assembly area, the CNC Production Centre and the training workshop. Meeting the international esmo teams made the collaboration within the group immediately visible.
New spaces for the next chapter
The anniversary year also marks concrete steps in the company’s spatial development. In Rosenheim, a new building was constructed next to the existing assembly hall. In Shanghai, esmo opened a new production facility with manufacturing areas and a cleanroom environment, focusing on applications related to Automated Test Equipment and prober solutions. In Zhubei, Taiwan, and in Singapore, esmo teams moved into new shared offices operated by the Accuron Group.
Overall, the new sites and facilities provide additional capacity for esmo’s continued work in engineering, manufacturing and customer support in key semiconductor markets.
Looking ahead, esmo will focus on the further development of technologies for semiconductor test handling, as well as docking and interface solutions and automation solutions for special-purpose machinery. Other priorities include expanding international service structures, investing in automation and digitalisation, further developing manufacturing processes with sustainability in mind, and training the next generation of technical specialists.
The 25th anniversary was therefore both a day on which the people behind the technology became visible and a moment when esmo turned its attention to the next steps in its development. In his speech during the Celebration Night, Andreas Rothstein, CEO of esmo AG, expressly thanked the employees — particularly those whose work takes place behind the scenes and remains invisible to many people, but not to esmo.
The shared journey began in Rosenheim. Today, it continues across locations around the world.
