Girls' Day 2024 @ esmo

esmo group of companies providing female school students insight into technical professions

On April 24, 2024, four pupils from the city and district of Rosenheim participated in Girls' Day, where they spent a day getting to know the professions of industrial mechanics and mechatronics.

The day started at 8:30 AM – somewhat late for regular working hours in mechanical engineering...

Doris Beyer, HR Specialist at esmo AG, along with Training Managers Florian Zoßeder and Georg Fischbacher, welcomed the 6th and 7th grade students at the company's headquarters on Brückenstraße in the middle of Rosenheim.

After an initial introduction and a small snack, the practical part began: The four engaged in various manual (such as filing, marking, center punching, etc.) and electrical engineering activities (soldering, wiring, assembling, etc.) to later create their own small workpieces. They learned a lot about conventional machine manufacturing processes (such as milling, turning, drilling, etc.) and computer-controlled manufacturing (CNC milling).

As a perfect combination of theory and practice, the students then had the opportunity to make lockable stainless steel dice cups, assisted by current esmo trainees Patricia Vogt, Janik Dos Santos, Leonhard Peter Lang, Lukas Radspieler, and Peter Strohbeck (all specializing in industrial mechanics) as well as Simon Hartl (specializing in mechatronics), who provided valuable tips and tricks.

The feedback from the four pupils was overwhelmingly positive: All enjoyed their day at esmo in the heart of Rosenheim. They can now even imagine pursuing a career in industrial mechanics or mechatronics, perhaps at esmo AG—Girls' Day this year was a first step in that direction.

Girls' Day was launched in 2001 to motivate girls and women to take up technical professions in so-called "male domains," thus increasing the proportion of female employees in these sectors.

For several years, esmo AG has been participating in Girls' Day, offering girls insights into the professions of industrial mechanics and mechatronics. In addition, the young women get to know the company itself and its various areas of activity on this day. Next year, the esmo group of companies will once again open its doors to interested young women on Girls' Day.

Every year, at least four new trainees start in the training professions of industrial mechanics and mechatronics at esmo AG. More information about the esmo training professions can be found online at training@esmo + your start into a career with the esmo group of companies.deep
